Item: #103 Name: Soap Wrapper
This Soapy "wrapping paper" was printed in 1977 by John Randolph "Randy" Smith to accompany the plaster soaps (item#102). These were used to wrap up the soap bars in reenactments of the Prize Package Soap Sell Racket. They are printed on both sides, the front has a nice explanation of the soap sell with a duplicate of Soapy's signature taken from a letter in the family collection. John's name and copyright date of 1977 are in the bottom right hand corner. Printed on the back is a pattern of the words, "Soapy's Soap" all over.
These were printed over 30 years ago on thin antiqued tan wrapping stock paper for ease of wrapping the soaps. Age has made them too brittle to use them to wrap the soaps more than a couple of times. These are now being sold as a collectible rather than for actual use.
